Alexander Alekhine 1 - 0 Aelred Horn (Simultaneous display (Bristol), 1936)

Around the time of the great Nottingham tournament of 1936, won by Botvinnik and Capablanca, a number of the players gave a series of simultaneous displays all round the country. At the Bristol event former world champion, Alexander Alekhine, who regained the title from Max Euwe the following year, met our future president, Aelred Horn, then a teacher in the city.
