Controller
The very experienced ECF-qualified arbiter, John Constable, has kindly agreed to act as tournament controller.
Sections
There will be one section, open to all.
Rating
The June 2024 ECF rapid play rating List (including results to 31/5/2024) will be used to determine rating prizes.
An estimated rating, based on available information, will be used for unrated players
The results of all games will be submitted to the ECF for inclusion in the rapidplay rating list.

½-Point Bye
Except in the final round, players may take one half-point bye in rounds 1 to 4, provided this is requested on or before Wednesday 26 June.
Rate of Play
All moves in 20 minutes plus 10 second increment per move from move 1
Prizes
The prizes for each section will be as follows:
1st £80
2nd £60
3rd £40
4th £30
Rating £20

Junior £20
The boundaries for the rating prizes will be determined when all entries have been received.
There will be a short prizegiving afterwards. Any prizewinner who cannot attend can request that his/her prize be paid either by cheque or bank transfer. In the case of a bank transfer thay will need to provide their bank details to the organiser.
Entry Fees
£15 for all sections. Players under 18 years old at 31st August 2023 may deduct a discount of £5.
ECF membership
Current ECF membership is required at the Silver level. Players (including juniors) not satisfying this condition, including Bronze members will need to pay a "pay to play" fee of £9 in addition to their entry fee. At the end of the congress the organisers will arrange for this to be paid to the ECF. Players (including juniors) who have not played in a tournament before will not be required to pay this fee. Email entry
Send an email to Ian George at 3a.roskear@gmail.com with your name, section entered and ECF reference, if known. Please indicate that you will be paying by bank transfer (see details below) or send a cheque made payable to Cornwall County Chess Association to Ian George, 3a Roskear, Camborne, TR14 8DF. Alternatively download and complete the entry form and attach it to an email addressed to Ian George at 3a.roskear@gmail.com.

Payment of ECF and entry fees
By cheque
Please make all cheques payable to Cornwall County Chess Association and send them to Ian George, 3a Roskear, Camborne, TR14 8DF.
By bank transfer / online payment
Bank details are:  sort code: 20-87-94, account number: 70948624. For identification of your payment on our bank statement please use your first initial and surname as the reference.
Players will not be entered in the draw until all monies due have been received. Players making payment after the Wednesday 26 June will be required to take a first-round bye.
Refreshments
Tea and coffee will be supplied by the venue (until it runs out!). The bar will be open throughout. There is a full menu in the restaurant at lunchtime. Sandwiches and other take-away food can be ordered from the bar at any time. Please note that if you bring your own lunch, it may not be eaten inside the venue.
